Comunicado del equipo nacional de vuelo acrobático:
«Queridos amigos,
Con gran dolor, informamos del fallecimiento de nuestro amigo y compañero, piloto miembro del Equipo Nacional de Vuelo Acrobático, Olivier Masurel.
Olivier se encontraba realizando el vuelo de regreso del Festival Aéreo de San Javier, en el que había tomado parte, cuando un buitre impactó en la cabina, provocando el accidente.
Olivier ha sido un referente en el vuelo acrobático mundial, un reconocido entrenador y un pilar del equipo nacional de España, del que formaba parte desde 2022 y, anteriormente, del francés, en el que militó desde 2007 hasta 2019.
A día de hoy era Campeón de España, Subcampeón del Mundo por Equipos con el Equipo Español y tercero en el mundo en Freestyle.
Su muerte, además de una tragedia, es una terrible pérdida para la comunidad acrobática internacional.
Se informará de los detalles del funeral en su debido momento.»
