Wing of Tomorrow Demonstrators

The three 17metre full scale wings demonstrators include:

  • Static wing demonstrator - used to test structural capabilities of new designs and materials and to validate our analysis.

  • Fully-equipped demonstrator - used to test installation technologies and novel approaches to equipping the next generation of wings with systems. 

  • Run@rate demonstrator - will test industrial capability and automation technologies to assess how we can build wings at the scale and speed we need to.

Folding wingtip technology

Airbus' folding wingtip technology looks at increasing the span of the wing to increase lift, reduce drag and to improve fuel efficiency without the need to alter existing airport infrastructure.

Germany renews A400M In-Service Support contract with Airbus



The Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information
Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw) in Koblenz, Germany has awarded Airbus
with a contract renewal for the Luftwaffe's A400M In-Service Support. The contract has a
duration of 7.5 years and serves as an extension of the A400M In-Service Support contract
that had been in place since December 2014.

FAA uses trajectory based operations as part of international flight test demo



A first-of-its-kind joint effort to manage flights across multiple countries by predicting where an aircraft will be and at what time has proven successful.

The Federal Aviation Administration's six-day live flight demonstration included four unique scenarios and flights between the U.S., Japan, Singapore and Thailand.
