On 13th, September, at the 2020 World UAV Conference, Shanghai AutoFlight Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "AutoFlight") grandly released the V400 Albatross, a vertical take-off and landing intelligent aircraft for the global market.
At the press conference, AutoFlight also announced its corporate strategic plan for the first time, focusing on large-scale intelligent logistics aircraft + "air taxi" autopilot manned aircraft as the main product layout, building an air logistics operation system and a three-dimensional air travel method to create the future Urban Air Mobility (UAM).

The V400 Albatross is independently developed by AutoFlight as a vertical take-off and landing intelligent aircraft with a maximum take-off weight of 400kg and a maximum payload of 100 kg. There are two power versions to choose from: the pure electric version has a full-payload cruising range of 300 kilometers, and the hybrid version has a full-payload cruising range of 1,000 kilometers.

Vertical take-off and landing, long endurance, large payload, and intelligence have always been the direction of technological breakthroughs in intelligent aircraft, and they are also key indicators to measure the technological strength of aircraft companies in various countries around the world. Compared with other leading vertical take-off and landing aircraft in the world, the V400 Albatross has the advantages of long endurance, large payload and intelligence.
V400 Albatross adopts canard layout design, which has a higher lift-to-drag ratio than the traditional layout, and achieves excellent aerodynamic performance. The whole aircraft body uses carbon fiber composite material integrated molding technology, which is lighter in weight, stronger and more rigid. The whole body adopts a three-axis layout to ensure the overall high reliability and high strength characteristics. The V400 Albatross closely integrates aerodynamics and electric propulsion technology, and is equipped with a flight control with completely independent intellectual property rights and a high power-to-weight ratio motor electronic control system. The lift part uses 8 sets of motors, and the thrust part is provided by 2 sets of power sources. The thrust can not only take off and land vertically and hover in the air like a multi-rotor drone, but also fly horizontally like a fixed-wing aircraft.
In terms of safety, the V400 Albatross strictly adopts aviation system development standards. It not only has an 8-lift, 2-thrust multi-redundant control system, a multi-redundant flight control system, and a ground radar assisted remote takeoff and landing function. It can also be equipped with a whole unit parachute. To maximize flight safety.
The V400 Albatross can fly autonomously, has the ability to intelligently sense and avoid in the air, and supports seamless connection with 4G/5G networks. It will be used in scenes such as express logistics, emergency material transportation, medical rescue and fire emergency, especially in mountainous and island transportation scenes, which can save a lot of time and have obvious efficiency advantages.

At the press conference, AutoFlight announced its corporate strategic plan for the first time, with large-scale intelligent logistics aircraft + "air rental" autopilot manned aircraft as the main product layout, building an air logistics operation system and a three-dimensional air travel method to create a future city Air traffic (Urban Air Mobility, UAM).
The R&D and production of large-scale vertical take-off and landing intelligent aircraft are fundamental to the realization of the UAM industry. The release of the V400 Albatross is not only the manifestation of AutoFlight’s strength in the field of large-scale vertical take-off and landing intelligent aircraft, but also marks AutoFlight’s technical verification. AutoFlight is one step closer to the vision of autonomous manned flight.
