Airbus Defence and Space is the main sponsor of the 2017 Caltech Space Challenge
As one of the world-leading company, Airbus manufactures planes, fighter jets, rockets ans satellites. They are the prime contractor of Arianespace’s Ariane 5, the world reference for heavy-lift launchers that will launch the James Webb Space Telescope. Airbus Defence & Space has contributed to many successful and renown space mission such as Cassini, Mars Express and more recently Rosetta. They are part of today's most exciting missions including LISA Pathfinder, ExoMars, NASA's Orion, and the OneWeb satellite constellation.
Their valuable expertise will be brought to Caltech as some of their engineers will help the participants solve the many aspects of the challenge. They will give public lectures and help the two teams.
This is the very first partnership between the Caltech Space Challenge and Airbus and the first involvement of this kind. Participants will have exclusive interviews and meetings with Airbus during and after the Challenge. New Russian Airliner Engines Unveiled At Iran Air Show 2016
The company intruduced the the new generation PD-14 engine developed for the MC-21 airliner. The UEC has planned the talks with the civil operators of the aero technics powered by the UEC engines. Apart from the PD-14 the UEC's show exposition includes the TV7-117V helicopter engine.
