Broader service centre network extends customer care

17 November 2015 Press Release

Airbus is enhancing the way that it cares for corporate jet customers and operators around the world, by expanding the capabilities and reach of its service centre network.

The expanded network comprises companies that are owned or controlled by Airbus, as well as independent ones that it has approved. Its capabilities will include line and heavy maintenance, cabin-refurbishing, and cabin and system upgrades.

The Service Centre network currently comprises the Airbus Corporate Jet Centre (ACJC) in Toulouse, Sepang Aircraft Engineering (SAE) in Malaysia, and the first independent member, Comlux America in Indianapolis. It will grow to include others in the coming months.

The network includes the provision of turnkey services, enabling customers to benefit from Airbus quality and standards – as well as peace of mind. It complements Airbus' leadership in turnkey cabin-outfitting of large business jets, where it is unique in having extensive experience.

"We already deliver comprehensive support, as well as robust reliability, and this latest expansion goes a step further in caring for, and responding to, the particular needs of the business aviation community worldwide," says Benoit Defforge, Managing Director, Airbus Corporate Jets.

Airbus corporate jet customers already have access to support and services tailored to their needs, such as single-point-of-contact access to the corporate jet customer care centre (C4you) team, dedicated customer support directors, training and customised maintenance programmes.

They also benefit from the technical advice, spares and training network that spans the globe, around the clock, in support of Airbus' more than 500 customers and operators.

More than 170 Airbus corporate jets are in service around the world, and they are flying on every continent, including Antarctica.

Beechcraft AT-6 Wolverine completes NATO’s Ample Strike exercise

Beechcraft Defense Company, LLC, a Textron Inc. (NYSE:TXT) company, has announced its Beechcraft AT-6 Wolverine light attack and reconnaissance aircraft successfully participated in its first North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) exercise. The Wolverine recently completed Exercise Ample Strike, a multinational air-land-integration exercise hosted in the Czech Republic to train NATO Joint Terminal Attack Controllers (JTACs) with live-flying exercises.

As part of Ample Strike, the Wolverine participated in seven operational missions that included 35 successful engagements of live adversary forces, complete with live firing, artillery, helicopter forward arming and refueling points, smoke and kinetic blanks.

“This was an important mission for the Beechcraft Wolverine: it was the first participation in a major day/night operational exercise, as well as the first overseas operational demonstration,” said Russ Bartlett, president, Beechcraft Defense Company. “The Wolverine was a crowd-pleaser both in the NATO exercise and the demonstration flights we conducted while in the region. This was a great opportunity to highlight the aircraft’s purpose-built capability, affordability, sustainability and interoperability for the most demanding of scenarios.”

About the AT-6 Wolverine

The Beechcraft Wolverine is a multi-role, multi-mission aircraft system designed to meet the spectrum of needs for the light attack mission. Leveraging a range of highly-specialized, but off-the-shelf capabilities, the Wolverine is outfitted with state-of-the-art equipment such as Pratt and Whitney PT6A-68D engine, CMC Esterline’s mission modified Cockpit 4000, Lockheed Martin’s A-10C-based mission system and L-3 WESCAM’s MX-15Di sensor suite.

Cessna showcases new Citation Longitude at NBAA 2015; announces large cabin Citation Hemisphere

http://txtav.com/en/newsroom/2015/11/cessna-showcases-new-citation-longitude-at-nbaa-2015

LAS VEGAS (Nov. 16, 2015) – Cessna Aircraft Company, a subsidiary of Textron Aviation Inc., a Textron Inc. (NYSE:TXT) company, today debuted its new Cessna Citation Longitude business jet at NBAA’s Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition in Las Vegas. The company also announced it plans to enter the large business jet category with the clean sheet, 4,500-nautical mile Citation Hemisphere. The Longitude and Hemisphere will join the Citation Latitude to complete a new, large-cabin, three-aircraft Citation family.

“We’re thrilled to unveil the future of this larger Citation family. The debut of the Longitude has been highly anticipated among prospective customers, industry observers and our Textron Aviation team members,” said Scott Ernest, Textron Aviation president and CEO. “Driven by customer input, the Longitude combines the ideal mix of performance, cabin comfort and industry leading technology. And, along with the Citation’s proven design and dependability, the Longitude is designed to revolutionize the super-midsize segment.”

Citation Longitude offers class-leading comfort

Setting a new standard in the super-midsize category, the Citation Longitude is the company’s latest innovation as it continues to invest in its family of larger business jets. With seating for up to 12 passengers, including an optional crew jumpseat, the Citation Longitude features a stand-up, flat-floor cabin with a standard double-club configuration, allowing the most legroom in the super-midsize class. With fully berthable seats and a class-leading, in-flight accessible walk-in baggage compartment, the Longitude is designed specifically for maximum passenger comfort and offers the lowest cabin altitude in its category at 5,950 feet. State-of-the-art cabin technology allows passengers to manage their environment and entertainment from any mobile device, while standard Internet maximizes productivity in flight.

Citation Longitude optimized for superior performance

The clean-sheet design of the Citation Longitude integrates the latest technology throughout the aircraft, bringing customers the lowest ownership costs in this category. The Citation Longitude features the next evolution of the Garmin G5000 flight deck and is powered by FADEC-equipped Honeywell HTF7700L turbofan engines with fully integrated autothrottles. The aircraft offers a full fuel payload of 1,500 pounds, a maximum cruise speed of 476 knots and a four-passenger high-speed range of 3,400 nautical miles.

“We believe that this range and performance is what the market wants for typical missions in this class,” Ernest said. “No other business jet in this space matches the Longitude’s combination of range, payload, cruise speed, standard features and lower total ownership costs.”

The Longitude is on track for first flight in 2016 with anticipated entry into service in 2017.

One Citation leads to another

Continuing on the company’s path of product investment, the 4,500-nautical mile large cabin Citation Hemisphere will feature the widest cabin in its class. The first flight for the Hemisphere is expected in 2019.

“Over the last 20 years customers in this segment have seen little innovation or investment in new products as their business needs and mission requirements have continued to evolve,” said Ernest. “The Citation Hemisphere is designed to transform this segment, offering customers the latest technology available and the widest cabin in its class.”

The company is actively seeking customer feedback on the Hemisphere and has an interactive cabin concept on display at NBAA this week.
