This lecture provides an overview of Hybrid Aircraft and the Airlander outlining how it combines the best of aerodynamic and aerostatic lift.

Chris and Andy explain why this green and innovative form of flying is so ground-breaking. Combining new capabilities, performance and green credentials is becoming essential to be competitive in the aircraft market. This requires engineering innovation and a good deal of lateral thinking - this is exactly what Hybrid Air Vehicles has done with the Airlander.

The Airlander combines the best of aeroplanes, helicopters, hovercraft and airship design to produce the largest, and one of the greenest and most innovative aircraft currently available. The result is an aircraft that can fly for over 5 days straight, take off and land vertically from virtually anywhere and will eventually be able to carry over 50 tonnes of cargo with stunning fuel consumption characteristics.
