El piloto del Boeing 777 siniestrado en San Francisco tenía sólo 43 horas de experiencia en ese modelo.

En el momento del siniestro el aparato los mandos estaban en manos de Lee Kang Kook, de 46 años, un piloto con "mucha experiencia" con otros aviones como Boeing 747, 737 o Airbus 320 desde que comenzó a pilotar, en 1994, pero "estaba en periodo de prácticas con el B777", ha reconocido Lee Hyo Min en declaraciones al diario 'Los Ángeles Times'.

Lee Hyo Min ha matizado que el copiloto era Lee John Min, de 49 años. Lee John Min "tiene más experiencia", con más de 12.000 horas de vuelo. "Tenía mucha experiencia con el B777", ha asegurado.
