Balance de la operativa del MWC 2012 El Aeropuerto de Barcelona-El Prat opera cerca de 300 vuelos privados

El Aeropuerto de Barcelona-El Prat registró 285 vuelos privados del 24 de
febrero al 2 de marzo con motivo del Mobile World Congress 2012,
celebrado la pasada semana en la Fira de Barcelona. Esta cifra supone
un aumento del 161,5% respecto a una semana habitual del mes de
febrero y un 5,2% más respecto al Mobile World Congress 2011.

Comercial
Durante la celebración del MWC 2012 el Aeropuerto de Barcelona-El Prat
incrementó sus ventas un 33% en comparación con una semana habitual
de 2012.

Los productos más vendidos fueron los de gastronomía autóctona como
cava, vino, turrón y embutidos ibéricos. Destacaron también las ventas de
electrónica con productos como auriculares y cargadores de móviles.

Servicios
En los días de congreso, los trayectos de taxi desde el aeropuerto –tanto
desde la T1 como la T2– fueron 54.160, cifra que supone un aumento del
50% respecto a una semana habitual. Asimismo, hubo 3.145 solicitudes

de servicios para vehículos de lujo, que dispusieron de una zona
exclusiva en el parking público.

En cuanto a peticiones de información, el día de mayor actividad fue el
domingo 26 de febrero, que se contabilizaron 8.482 preguntas, un 71%
más que un día habitual. La mayoría de ellas sobre medios de transporte
a la ciudad e información turística.

Prestaciones de calidad
El incremento de actividad durante el MWC 2011 también se dejó notar en
el Centro de Negocios del Aeropuerto de Barcelona-El Prat, que registró
plena ocupación de sus habitaciones, Air Rooms, durante toda la semana
pasada.

Las salas VIP llegaron a los 3.700 usuarios diarios y el servicio VIP Fast
Pass –que ofrece asistencia personalizada al pasajero– se multiplicó
llegando casi al centenar de personas. Finalmente, el parking VIP tuvo un
30% más de servicios contratados.

Construction begins on new facility set to open in 2013

EVERETT, Wash., March 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Boeing (NYSE: BA) today officially began construction on its new enhanced Everett Delivery Center (EDC) with a groundbreaking ceremony attended by Boeing employees, customers and local dignitaries.

"Our customers are demanding our products like never before," said Jeff Klemann, vice president of the delivery center. "As we build more airplanes at faster and faster rates, we also need a world-class facility to conduct our delivery operations. The new Everett Delivery Center will be more than just a building; it's an investment in our customers, our local community, our employees and Boeing's future."

The new facility will feature three times the office, conference and delivery operations space as the current EDC. The design includes a customer complex and delivery lounge to enhance the customer experience, as more than 150 customer representatives work on-site in the EDC.

"Today's a day for celebration," said Klemann "We've delivered over 3,500 airplanes from our old center, and it served us well. Today's event leading to next year's delivery center opening ensures that Everett will be delivering wide-body aircraft for decades to come."

The new EDC is expected to open for operation in early 2013. Plans are in place to ensure seamless deliveries during the interim period.

The EDC, central to Boeing's Everett site operations, houses major functions and personnel related to the delivery of its 747, 767, 777 and 787 commercial airplanes.

Commercial Aircraft Corp. of China and Boeing Sign Collaboration Agreement to Partner in Areas Advancing Commercial Aviation Industry Growth

- Aircraft Manufacturers Strengthen Ties with Leadership Meetings, Exchange of Commercial Aviation Market Forecasts


BEIJING, March 6, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Commercial Aircraft Corp. of China (COMAC) and Boeing (NYSE: BA) today announced a collaboration agreement to partner in areas that will enable commercial aviation industry growth in China and potentially around the world. This is the first collaboration agreement between COMAC, which is building the new C919 jet and ARJ21 regional jet, and Boeing, which this year celebrates its 40th anniversary of providing commercial aircraft and services to China's aviation industry.

As part of the agreement, the two companies will create the Boeing-COMAC Aviation Energy Conservation and Emissions Reductions Technology Center in Beijing. Funded by both companies, the Boeing-COMAC Center will support research projects to increase commercial aviation's fuel efficiency and reduce greenhouse-gas emissions. The aircraft manufacturers also agreed to have annual leadership engagements and exchange commercial aviation market forecasts.

A signing ceremony in Beijing was attended by COMAC Chairman Jin Zhuanglong, COMAC President He Dongfeng and Boeing Commercial Airplanes President and CEO Jim Albaugh.

"Through this collaboration agreement, Boeing and COMAC will build our relationship and will further sustainable growth and fuel efficiency for China's fast-growing aviation market," said Albaugh. "Our new Technology Center shows that two companies in a competitive industry can partner to make progress on important challenges that cannot be solved by one company alone. That is good for customers and passengers, and it's the right thing to do."

The Boeing-COMAC Aviation Energy Conservation and Emissions Reductions Technology Center will be located at COMAC's Beijing Civil Aircraft Technology Research Center. The companies will collaborate with China-based universities and research institutions to expand knowledge of technologies – such as sustainable aviation biofuels, aviation connectivity infrastructure and other areas – that improve commercial aviation's energy efficiency or reduce the industry's carbon emissions. The companies will jointly select and fund each research project.

"This milestone agreement between Boeing and COMAC follows four decades of Boeing partnership with airlines, government agencies, suppliers and research institutions to support the development of China's aviation industry," said Marc Allen, President of Boeing China. China is one of the world's fastest-growing aviation markets. The Civil Aviation Administration of China has forecast that passenger traffic in China will surpass 300 million this year and will reach 1.5 billion passengers in 2030. Boeing has estimated that Chinese airlines will need to buy 5,000 new airplanes by 2030 to meet this extraordinary demand.

Boeing Delivers 1st P-8A Poseidon Production Aircraft to US Navy



SEATTLE, March 6, 2012 -- Boeing [NYSE: BA] on March 4 officially delivered the first production P-8A Poseidon aircraft to the U.S. Navy in Seattle. The P-8A is the first of 13 anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface warfare, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance aircraft Boeing will deliver as part of a low-rate initial production (LRIP) contract awarded in 2011.

“Delivering this capability to the warfighter is the ultimate goal and we’re proud to be able to meet our commitment and hand over the P-8A ‘keys’ to the Navy fleet,” said Chuck Dabundo, Boeing vice president and P-8 program manager. “This is a great day for Boeing, our supplier teammates and our Navy customer.”

“The Navy fleet is more than ready to receive the P-8A, which will provide the users and operators a step increase in mission capabilities,” said Rear Admiral Paul Grosklags, U.S. Navy Program Executive Officer for Air Anti-Submarine Warfare, Assault & Special Mission Programs. “Thanks to Boeing and the entire team for its efforts and great partnership to date.”

Following delivery in Seattle, Navy pilots flew the first production P-8A, LRIP1-1, to Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Fla., where it will be used for aircrew training.

The Poseidon team is using a first-in-industry in-line production process that draws on Boeing’s Next-Generation 737 production system. All P-8A-unique aircraft modifications are made in sequence during fabrication and assembly.

Along with production aircraft, the P-8A team also has built and is testing six flight-test and two ground-test aircraft. The flight-test aircraft are based at Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Md., and have completed more than 1,500 flight hours.

A derivative of the Next-Generation 737-800, the Poseidon is built by a Boeing-led industry team that includes CFM International, Northrop Grumman, Raytheon, Spirit AeroSystems, BAE Systems and GE Aviation.

The Navy plans to purchase 117 Boeing 737-based P-8A aircraft to replace its P-3 fleet. Initial operational capability is planned for 2013.

Aeroflot puts its sixth Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft in operation.

March 6, 2012 Moscow — Aeroflot Russian Airlines puts its sixth Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft (SSJ100) in operation. The first revenue flight of the airliner, painted in the SkyTeam livery, will be performed soon.

The Sukhoi Superjet 100 MSN 95013 (registered number RA-89005) was delivered to Aeroflot under contract with the VEB-Leasing JSC on financial lease (leasing). The delivered aircraft is designed to carry 87 passengers in a comfortable two-class layout (12 — business class and 75 — in economy class).

Aeroflot ordered 30 SSJ100 aircraft in total.

"We are very pleased that our SSJ100 aircraft is becoming an important part of the Aeroflot's fleet. We will do our best to make sure that the SSJ100 continues to meet the expectations of the airline", noted Vladimir Prisyazhnyuk, President of Sukhoi Civil Aircraft.

Aeroflot currently operates six SSJ100 aircraft serving routes from Moscow to 13 Russian cities as well as to Minsk, Budapest Oslo and Stockholm. Aeroflot operations confirm that the aircraft perfectly match their requirements in terms of high frequency departures on regional routes.

Iberia demanda al sindicato de pilotos Sepla por huelga ilegal y abusiva

-          La compañía ha presentado otra demanda contra el sindicato Stavla, que representa a menos de un tercio de los tripulantes de cabina de pasajeros, por la misma razón.

-          Hoy se ha presentado la demanda de conciliación ante la Dirección General de Trabajo, a la que seguirá, si no hay acuerdo, la demanda ante la Audiencia Nacional.

 

Madrid, 6 de marzo de 2012

La compañía Iberia ha presentado hoy una demanda contra el sindicato de pilotos Sepla para pedir sea declarada ilegal la huelga convocada por dicho sindicato, y con ella solicitar la compensación económica por los graves daños causados a la compañía, que hasta ahora se han calculado en más de 3 millones de euros por día. Una solicitud similar se ha presentado también contra el sindicato Stavla, que representa a menos de un tercio del colectivo de tripulantes de cabina de pasajeros.

La demanda se dirige tanto contra los sindicatos como contra las secciones sindicales de ambos en Iberia.

En el caso del Sepla, la compañía alega dos motivos fundamentales:

-          Se trata de una huelga que persigue obstruir una decisión tomada por la empresa en el ejercicio de su legítima libertad de empresa, salvaguardada por el artículo 38 de la Constitución española, decisión que, además, respeta todos los acuerdos firmados por la compañía.

-          Se trata de una huelga abusiva, y la última convocatoria de 24 días, que coinciden además con Semana Santa y los puentes de San José y de mayo, confirma esa realidad. Dichas huelgas tiene un enorme coste para la empresa y casi nada para los pilotos que la realizan.

En el caso de la demanda contra el Stavla, para Iberia se trata de una huelga ilegal por los mismos motivos que la del Sepla (por abusiva y por pretender impedir un derecho legítimo de la empresa protegido por la Constitución) y además porque:

-          En el propio convenio colectivo de TCP se contempla la operación de Iberia Express como una empresa independiente.

-          Recientemente el comité de Vuelo, del que forma parte Stavla, entabló por unanimidad un conflicto colectivo contra Iberia que se saldó con un acuerdo firmado por cuatro de los cinco sindicatos y donde estos reconocen que cubren totalmente los motivos por los que habían ido al conflicto.

-          Es una huelga de solidaridad no provocada por motivos propios sino para aliarse con los de otros, en concreto los del Sepla, a quien secunda con esta convocatoria.
 
Por otro lado, ayer la compañía hizo efectivo el despido de un tercer piloto a quien se le abrió expediente disciplinario por no querer realizar el vuelo asignado estando en incidencias. Durante el periodo de incidencias, que dura un mes, los pilotos en esa situación no tienen programado ningún vuelo pero tienen que llamar todos los días, por la mañana y por la noche, para ver si tienen alguna actividad designada o no.  Este sistema viene aplicándose desde hace casi 50 años por la compañía y cumpliéndose por los pilotos, y ha sido reconocido como acorde con la ley en distintas sentencias ganadas por
la compañía.
