Australia has selected the C-27J over the C-295 as its battlefield airlifter. Alenia Aermacchi announced in a press release today that Australia will buy 10 C-27Js under the U.S. Foreign Military Sales program at a cost of around A$1.4 billion (US$1.41 billion).
