Rusia afirma que en 2020 completará el rearme de sus Tropas de Misiles Estratégicos

Según ha comunicado el jefe de la Administración Presidencial ruso, Serguei Narishkin, cuyas declaraciones recoge la agencia rusa Ria Novosti, Rusia completará hacia 2020 el rearme de sus Tropas de Misiles Estratégicos (TME). Según el dirigente ruso, “el porcentaje de equipos modernos en el Ejército subirá al 30% para 2015 y al 70% para 2020, y en las Tropas de misiles estratégicos será del 100”.

PAK FA made 100 flights during the flight test program

November 3, 2011 Moscow — The 100th flight took place today during the flight tests of the perspective 5th generation fighter aircraft (PAK FA). Currently two fighters are involved in the test program.

The first flight of the PAK FA was held on January 29, 2010 in Komsomolsk-on-Amur. In early March 2011 the second flight model took off there. At present, work is underway on the full range of ground and flight tests. The first public demonstration of the fighter was held on August 17 this year at the International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS-2011 in Zhukovsky near Moscow.

The PAK-FA program provides for the creation, production organization and adoption by the Russian army of the 5th generation fighter. This will enhance the combat capabilities of the Russian Air Force, will help the aviation and related industries to attain new industrial and technological level, adding new impetus to the development of scientific schools, providing a stable workload for defense industry enterprises involved in its development and production. This top priority program for the Sukhoi Company will contribute to the development and implementation of materials, element base and high technologies of high innovative potential for the aviation industry and the economy of the country as well as for development of other projects of unified aviation complexes of new generations.

Compared with previous generations of fighters, the PAK FA has several unique features, combining the functions of an attack aircraft and fighter. The aircraft is equipped with a fifth-generation avionics with integrated function of “Electronic pilot” and next-generation radar with a phased antenna array. This equipment reduces the pilot’s workload and helps him concentrate on tactical objectives. The on-board equipment of the new aircraft allows the exchange of data in real time with ground control systems and other aircraft. The PAK-FA is made of composite materials with innovative technologies. Its aerodynamic design and measures to reduce the engine’s visibility provide very low level of radar, optical and infrared visibility while significantly improving combat effectiveness on air and ground targets, at any time, in both visible and adverse weather conditions.

Development of the multi-role NH90 Tactical Transport Helicopter is formally completed with its approval in the final operational configuration

The NH90 program has reached a major milestone with the declaration of compliance for the NH90 TTH (Tactical Transport Helicopter) variant's Final Operational Configuration, This marks the NH-90 TTH's development completion, and enables deliveries to begin before year-end in the helicopter's full operational definition.

"The milestone marks the most important achievement in the life of the NH90 program. NH90, the most modern rotary-wing aircraft in its class and the largest military helicopter program ever undertaken in Europe, offers now its full range of operational capabilities to the military forces" stated Lutz Bertling, the President and CEO of Eurocopter, which is a member of the NH90 industrial team. "Completing the NH90 TTH's compliance process confirms this multi-role helicopter will meet the specifications and operational requirements of the founding customers."

The declaration of compliance was issued by the NATO Helicopter Management Agency (NAHEMA), which is the North Atlantic Treaty Organization's function that manages the NH90 acquisition for the participating countries. With this go-ahead, the initial NH90 TTH variant in the final operational configuration is to be received by the French Army. It will be followed by the startup of deliveries in 2012 to Italy, Belgium and Germany.

The new-generation NH90 TTH is designed for use in a wide range of demanding missions, including logistics and utility transport, combat search and rescue, casualty and medical evacuation, electronic warfare, special operations and counter-terrorism. In its approved final operational configuration, the helicopter offers a matured avionics system, allowing day and night missions with no major restrictions; full military communications system functionality for interoperability in foreign operations; a complete set of technical publications; and the approval for overseas deployments by ship.

About the NH90

Produced in two basic versions – the Tactical Troop Transport and NATO Frigate Helicopter – this 11-metric-ton class rotary-wing aircraft provides a common platform for army and navy and air force roles, enabling countries to rationalize their helicopter fleets while also organizing training and support on a larger scale, with flexible management of personnel and equipment. Its large cabin, rapid access (with two lateral sliding doors and optional rear ramp) and quick role-change capability ensures mission flexibility for multiple operational scenarios.

To date, a total of 529 NH90s have been ordered by 14 nations, of which 418 are for the Tactical Transport Helicopter version. Six NH90 final assembly lines are now operational in France, Germany, Italy, Finland, Australia and Spain under direction of the pan-European NHIndustries industrial organization – which is owned by Eurocopter (62.5%), AgustaWestland (32%), and Fokker Aerostructures (5.5%). More than 80 NH90s have been delivered to military services, with these aircraft logging some 19,100 flight hours.

EMBRAER PARTICIPATES IN THE 2011 DUBAI AIR SHOW

Company will highlight its full portfolio of commercial and executive jets

​Dubai, United Arab Emirates, November 7, 2011 – Embraer will participate in the 12th edition of the Dubai Air Show (www.dubaiairshow.aero), November 13-17, at Dubai’s International Airport (DXB), in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The Company will promote its full line of commercial and executive jets, and showcase the large Legacy 650 and the ultra-large Lineage 1000 executive jets.

Two press conferences will be held by Embraer during the event, both in the Conference Center, on Sunday, November 13. The first, dedicated to Embraer’s executive jets, will take place at 3:00 p.m. in Room 3, East Hall Mezzanine Center, and the second, focused on commercial aviation, will start at 4:00 p.m. in Room 4, Central Hall. Visitors are welcomed to the Company’s chalet (A07).

In the Middle East, Embraer’s footprint has grown steadily, since its first commercial aircraft, an EMBRAER 170, entered service with Saudi Arabian Airlines in 2005. The family of four E-Jets, seating from 70 to 122 passengers, are in service with nine operators. A total of 65 E-Jets are currently flying in the Middle East, taking off and landing every five minutes. In 2010-2011, the EMBRAER 170 was the second most operated aircraft in the region, mainly used to rightsize routes and reduce narrowbody excess capacity.

Embraer executive jets have also received an acceptance of excellence from customers in the region, with over 30 aircraft flying, ranging from the light jet Phenom 300 through to the ultra-large Lineage 1000, including the newest large Legacy 650 jet, which received the first order from the UAE last month.

In addition, Embraer has designated three authorized service centers to provide maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO): two for executive aviation (in Dubai and Abu Dhabi) and one for commercial jets (in Egypt). The E-Jets family have more than 800 commercial jets in operation with 60 companies in 40 countries, with over 1,000 firm orders.

EMBRAER AND CIT AEROSPACE SIGN AN AGREEMENT FOR UP TO 30 E-JETS

Leading U.S. leasing company includes the EMBRAER 190/195 in its portfolio

​Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA, November 7, 2011 – Embraer and CIT Group Inc., a global leader in transportation finance, have signed an agreement for the sale of up to 30 EMBRAER 190 and/or EMBRAER 195 jets, with ten firm orders. Deliveries are scheduled through 2015.

“Embraer is very pleased to have such an important lessor as CIT Aerospace joining the E-Jets program,” said Paulo Cesar de Souza e Silva, Embraer President, Commercial Aviation. “After more than 1,000 firm orders, spread over 60 operators in 40 countries, this investment by CIT is further confirmation that the E-Jets have achieved a high level of attractiveness for the top-tier investor community.”

CIT owns or finances a fleet of approximately 300 commercial aircraft. According to Jeffrey Knittel, President of Transportation Finance at CIT: “We are pleased to announce our first direct order with Embraer for the E190/E195 aircraft, which will enable CIT Aerospace to offer an even more diverse set of products to its customers. This order allows CIT Aerospace to continue to maintain one of the youngest and most technologically advanced fleets in the industry and will help us meet our customers’ increased demand for this size of aircraft.”

The E190 and the E195 are the two bigger models of the four-member E-Jets family of brand-new commercial jets that entered service, respectively in August 2005 and July 2006. The jets can be configured in one or two classes, seating from 98 to 122 passengers in a comfortable four-abreast (2-2), no-middle-seat configuration, and can fly up to 2,400 nautical miles (4,450 kilometers) nonstop.

EMBRAER DELIVERS 100TH AIRCRAFT TO THE CHINESE MARKET

The jet will be operated by China Southern Airlines

Beijing, China, November 1, 2011 – Embraer’s 100th aircraft delivered to the Chinese market landed in China yesterday, marking a significant milestone of the Company’s presence in China. The aircraft is an EMBRAER 190, which will be operated by China Southern Airlines, the largest airline in China and the third in the world in terms of traffic volume.

Embraer delivered the first aircraft in the region in 2000. Today, the fleet has 97 commercial and three executive jets operated by ten customers throughout the Greater China region, including mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau.

“The delivery of 100th aircraft to the Chinese market is an important milestone for Embraer. With a decade of history, the Company now accounts for around 70% of China’s aviation market of up to 120 seats. The milestone also indicates the robust development of China’s regional aviation industry in the past few years, and we are proud to be part of the efforts to promote regional aviation in China. With more aircraft to be delivered, Embraer will continuously improve its customer support and services to better meet customer demands,” said Guan Dongyuan, President of Embraer China.

Embraer officially inaugurated a representative office in Beijing in May 2000. To date, the Company has received 150 firm orders from Chinese customers, including 131 commercial and 19 executive jets. Embraer products, both commercial and executive, are becoming, year by year, more popular in the region. The number of firm orders in 2011 has reached 35 aircraft: 20 EMBRAER 190s and 15 executive jets.

In light of the expanding customer base, Embraer established the first wholly owned subsidiary in the country – Embraer China Aircraft Technical Services Co., Ltd., – in 2010 to provide customers with all round support, including spare parts sales, consulting services concerning technical issues and flight operations. To better support the fast growing fleet, the Company is investing to strengthen the service network in the region for both airline and executive customers. Currently, Tianjin Airlines, who owns the largest E-Jets fleet in Asia, is an authorized service center for commercial jets, while the Hong Kong-based Metrojet Ltd. will soon be fully equipped to provide services for the Legacy 600, Legacy 650 and Lineage 1000 executive jets.

SUPER TUCANO RECEIVES AIRWORTHINESS CERTIFICATE IN THE U.S.

Certificate issued by the FAA may open new business opportunities in that country

​São Paulo – SP, October 26, 2011 – The Super Tucano light attack and advanced training turboprop received its airworthiness certificate issue by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), last week. This specific certificate by the U.S.’s principal aviation regulatory authority allows the beginning of a demo tour to American military bases, and it will open new business opportunities for Embraer Defense and Security in the world’s largest defense market.

“This airworthiness certificate of the Super Tucano issued by the FAA could have a very positive impact on the market development of this proven aircraft in the U.S., and is a highly relevant triumph for Embraer Defense and Security,” said Luiz Carlos Aguiar, President of Embraer Defense and Security. “The Super Tucano is the technologically most advanced airplane in its category, with proven experience in all of the countries where it already operates, and we have seen growing interest expressed by armed forces.”

One Super Tucano is in operation in the United States with Tactical Air Defense Services, Inc., a defense and aerospace contractor, specialized in providing military training, aerial refueling operations, and aircraft maintenance for the U.S. Armed Forces. The aircraft was acquired from Tactical Air Support, Inc. (TacAir), via a leasing contract. TacAir was founded in 2005 by veteran instructors from the U. S. Weapons Schools of the Navy, Marines, and Air Force, test pilots, and maintenance professionals, offers consulting services for tactical military training, and has provided a number of services for the U.S. Department of Defense.

The Super Tucano has been in operation for over seven years, is used by the armed forces of five nations, and will soon go into action in Indonesia. Currently, there are more than 150 of these aircraft flying with excellent performance records: over 130,000 flight hours, and more than 18,000 combat hours, without a single loss.

Designed to operate in harsh environments, under rigorous conditions, with little support infrastructure, the Super Tucano is the ideal aircraft for performing advanced training and counter-insurgency missions. It is capable of flying over operational theaters for more than four hours, while performing reconnaissance and support missions for troops on the ground, and offers more than 130 proven and operational weapons configurations. In the United States, the Super Tucano will be used for training teams specialized in providing Close Air Support for ground troops.

Boeing Expands Flight Training Capability in Central Asia, Eastern Europe

SEATTLE, Nov. 7, 2011 – Boeing (NYSE: BA) and Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) have partnered to add additional flight training capability in Baku, Azerbaijan. The long-term agreement adds the new AZAL Aviation Training Center to Boeing’s global network of flight training campuses. The training campus includes new full-flight simulators for the Boeing 757 and 767, Airbus A320 as well as ATR airplanes.

"This is a partnership that truly adds value to our customers," said Roei Ganzarski, chief customer officer, Boeing Flight Services. "By making the Baku training campus available to airline customers throughout the region, we can help AZAL lower its operating costs and recoup some of its training infrastructure investment by bringing in revenue-creating customers from around the region.”

In addition, the partnership means Boeing can offer regional customers a flight training location closer to their home operating base without capital investment and with overall lower training costs.

With the addition of the Baku training campus, Boeing Flight Services now offers a global network of training services at 19 campuses in 14 countries, supporting more than 80 full-flight simulators, including the new world-class Boeing 787 training suites.

España prorroga el contrato de mantenimiento con Airbus Military para su flota de C212

Madrid, 07 noviembre 2011

El Ministerio de Medio Ambiente y Medio Rural y Marino español ha prorrogado el contrato en vigor con Airbus Military para el mantenimiento de tres aviones C212 durante dos años más. El Departamento de Inspección Pesquera emplea estos C212 para vigilar las aguas territoriales españolas.

El contrato original se firmó en el año 2000 y ya se ha prorrogado con anterioridad en otras tres ocasiones. El acuerdo comprende, además del mantenimiento integral de los tres aparatos, servicios tales como las reparaciones de estos, el suministro de piezas y los controles de mantenimiento programados y no programados durante el periodo de dos años de duración del contrato.

“Estamos ampliando la gama de servicios para que nuestros clientes puedan llevar a cabo tanto sus operaciones como el mantenimiento de sus aparatos de forma más rentable y fiable. La extensión de este contrato es un ejemplo y una muestra clara de la confianza que España tiene en los productos y servicios de Airbus Military. Nos enorgullece poder seguir ayudando y asistiendo a los C212 y esperamos que esta cooperación dure muchos años más”, comentó Philippe Gallan, director del Servicio de Atención al Cliente.

Third Airbus Military A330 MRTT handed over to Royal Australian Air Force

The third aircraft in the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) expanding fleet of new-generation Airbus Military A330 MRTT multi-role tanker/transports has been formally handed over to the RAAF providing a significant boost to Defence's in-flight refuelling, air logistics support and air combat capability.


The delivery of the aircraft  to RAAF Base Amberley, Queensland, today  marks another major milestone for the A330 MRTT programme and the world's most advanced air-to-air tanker aircraft, designated the KC-30A in Australian military service. The first two KC-30As were delivered in June.

Today's delivery is the third of five MRTTs ordered by the RAAF. As with the first two aircraft delivered in June, this MRTT was also converted from an Airbus A330 commercial passenger jet to a military tanker/transport by Qantas Defence Services at the Australian MRTT Conversion Centre at Brisbane Airport.

With three MRTTs now in RAAF fleet service, a fourth - actually the first to be converted but at Airbus Military's headquarters in Spain - will be handed over in Madrid in December.  The fifth and final aircraft, which arrived in Brisbane for conversion some weeks ago, will be delivered next year.

All five A330 MRTTs were acquired under AIR 5402 to provide the Australian Defence Force (ADF) with what is the world's only certified and flying new generation tanker/transport aircraft. The type has also been ordered by Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom, with Saudi Arabia having already placed a repeat order.

In RAAF service, the aircraft are equipped with two underwing refuelling pods, the fly-by-wire Airbus Military Aerial Refuelling Boom System (ARBS), and a Universal Aerial Refuelling Receptacle Slipway Installation (UARRSI) enabling it to be refuelled from another tanker. Powered by two General Electric CF6-80E engines, the aircraft are equipped with a comprehensive defensive aids suite (DAS) and fitted with 270 passenger seats.

Problemas en el nuevo 787 de Boeing solo 12 días después de su estreno

Apenas 12 días después de su estreno en un vuelo comercial, el nuevo 787 Dreamliner de Boeing, la última apuesta del fabricante aeronáutico estadounidense en aviones de tamaño medio y largo alcance, ya tiene problemas.
 
El vuelo 651 de la aerolínea japonesa ANA, que cubría la ruta Tokio-Okayama, tuvo dificultades a la hora de hacer su aterrizaje el domingo en un primer intento, después de que los pilotos detectaran que una de las señales luminosas de cabina indicaba que el tren de aterrizaje principal no se había desplegado completamente.
