Royal Saudi Air Force starts flight training on the A330 MRTT with Airbus Militar

Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) crews started flight training on their first A330 MRTT with Airbus Military instructors at the Airbus Military Getafe facilities in Spain yesterday 25th October

This will allow the crews to qualify for Air Logistic Transport and Air-to-Air Refueling with pods and boom.

Col Pilote Mashhour Bin Abdallah AL BURIKAN, RSAF A330 MRTT 13th Flying Wing Commander, and Lt Pilote Khaled Bin Abdallah AL MAJED, whose picture was taken inside the RSAF A330 MRTT cockpit, and the rest of the RSAF Aircrew will be training with Airbus Military over the next two months.

Delivery of the first A330 MRTT to the RSAF will take place mid November 2011. Next RSAF MRTT aircraft deliveries are scheduled for 2012.

Boeing Delivers US Navy's 12th C-40A Derivative Aircraft:Modified Boeing 737-700 will be used for troop and cargo transport

WICHITA, Kan., Oct. 25, 2011 -- Boeing [NYSE: BA] delivered the 12th C-40A aircraft to the U.S. Navy on Oct. 21. The Boeing 737-700 derivative was modified at the company's Wichita facility for troop and cargo transport missions.

Boeing and Navy representatives marked the milestone with a ceremonial "passing of the key" at the Wichita facility before the aircraft departed for its home base at Naval Air Station North Island in San Diego.

"The C-40A combines Boeing Commercial Airplanes' best-selling 737 with Boeing Defense, Space & Security's modification expertise," said Steve Wade, general manager of Boeing Global Transport & Executive Systems. "This aircraft increases the Navy's capability for rapid response worldwide, and we're looking forward to continuing to enhance the fleet with as many aircraft as the Navy requires."

"The global reach and persistent presence of forward-stationed and rotational naval forces is made possible by Navy Unique Fleet Essential Airlift, and the fuel-efficient C-40A delivers this important capability reliably and at a lower cost," said Rear Adm.
