Check-in to the App Store to experience flight in 2050

The futuristic concept for air travel unveiled to the world by Airbus last week is now available at the Apple App Store, giving everyone a chance to interact with the in-flight cabin experience of 2050.
Available for iPad and iPhone, the free ‘fly-through’ App puts passengers onboard the leading aircraft manufacturer’s innovative Concept Cabin. The App was launched today at Le Bourget Paris Airshow as part of the ‘Future by Airbus’ – a vision of air travel in 2050. The blueprints released last week sent public interest soaring with over 30,000 mentions in social media and half a million hits on You Tube.
Those who experienced the ‘nature inspired’ futuristic Concept Cabin design can now take a virtual tour of Cabin’s personalised ‘Vitalizing’, ‘Smart Tech’ and ‘Interactive’ zones that replace first, business and economy classes.  From 30,000 feet up people are able to stare at the stars through the aircraft's intelligent, transparent wall membrane from a morphing seat that moulds to their body and harvests heat to power certain cabin features.
Rainer Ohler, Airbus Senior Vice President Public Relations and Communications, said: “The Airbus Concept Cabin has generated huge interest and excitement across the globe. Our vision of flight in 2050 has really captured people’s interest and with this App everyone can experience how the journey can be as much a voyage of discovery as the destination."
The Airbus Concept Cabin’s personalised zones are designed to focus on different aspects of the passenger experience.  The ‘Vitalising zone’” focuses on passenger wellbeing with vitamin and antioxidant-enriched air, mood lighting, aromatherapy and acupressure treatments. In the 'Interactive zone' there are virtual pop-up projections taking passengers to whichever social scene they want to be in, from holographic gaming to virtual changing rooms for active shoppers. At the rear of the plane the 'Smart Tech zone' is tailored towards the functional passenger, allowing passengers to continue life as if on the ground.
100 percent recyclable, the Concept Cabin has self-cleaning materials grown from sustainable plant fibres which reduces waste and maintenance. It has an integrated neural network that recognises passengers and adapts accordingly their needs.  The Concept Cabin follows last year’s unveiling of the Airbus Concept Plane – packed with technologies to reduce fuel burn, emissions, waste and noise – and gives further insight into some of the innovations and technologies that will shape future passenger experiences on board.
The App is available to download from itunes.apple.com or search for The Future by Airbus. A web version is also available to explore at www.thefuturebyairbus.com
