Presentan una querella criminal contra Boeing por el accidente de Spanair

http://www.abc.es/20091023/nacional-tribunales/presentan-querella-criminal-contra-200910231840.html

debido a que Boeing no respetó o no comunicó a las aerolíneas la necesidad de cumplir una serie de normas obligatorias, el constructor aeronáutico estadounidense es "el responsable" o "ha influido" en que el accidente tuviera lugar.

Video: Stratos 714 -- A New Take On The Personal Jet

The Stratos 714 jet is designed to meet the needs of a growing number of performance-driven aviators 'who demand more speed range, and luxury in an owner-flown turbojet.' The 714 was first introduced last year and is the first VLPJ designed to bridge the performance gap between VLJ aircraft and full size business jets.

Stratos claims that the aircraft is a clean-sheet carbon composite design, optimized to achieve cruise speeds of more than 400 knots, with a 1500 nautical mile range (NBAA IFR reserves), with 4 people seated comfortably and ample baggage storage

Reportedly, a leading aerodynamics company has validated the primary performance targets of the Stratos 714 confirming their mission of 400 knots, 1500 miles, 4 passengers.

Boeing, Airbus Chiefs Exchange Tanker Barbs

Boeing's top executive denies that his company has gained unfair advantage in the battle for the U.S. Air Force's KC-X refueling tanker contract and charges that the competing EADS-Northrop Grumman team is using a government-subsidized platform.

"It's a topic of concern for us because we are proposing the same airplane" in the new tanker competition, EADS CEO Louis Gallois said during a press conference in Washington Oct. 20. "It's convenient for Boeing to have the breakdown of our costs. We could find it convenient to have the same."

Boeing Chairman, CEO and President James McNerney lashed back Oct. 21 at talk of Boeing's "purported" advantage. "Our competition somehow feels that we have some information coming out of the last protest about them that they don't have about us," McNerney said during a third quarter earnings call. "I'm not sure what they mean."

US Begins (Another) Next-Gen Tactical Transport Effort

"[The C-130J Hercules] has since been deployed into theater by the USAF, where its vastly improved performance in "hot and high" environments has come in very handy. Unlike the pending Airbus A400M, however, the C-130J doesn't solve the sub-survivable 20-ton armored vehicle limit that has stymied multiple US armored vehicle programs from the Stryker IAV to Future Combat Systems. As such, it represents an improvement that fails to address US tactical airlift's key bottleneck limitation."

Something called the Advanced Composite Cargo Aircraft (ACCA) may – or may not – represent a first step toward addressing that issue. It may also represent a US aerospace effort to avoid a looming future in which the Airbus A400M would be the only available tactical transport for survivable armored personnel carriers. With the light transport JCA made up of entirely foreign designs, the 20-ton transport market beginning to crowd, and the heavy-lift C-17 production line headed toward shutdown, the US aerospace industry risks a slip from a 1980-1990s position of market dominance in the military transport space to a position of fighting for its competitive life by 2020.
