Providing critical insight into future fighter requirements, 5th generation capabilities and the evolving role of air combat aircraft.
The number of identified fighter requirements across the world highlights the continued importance of air combat platforms to senior Air Force officials and national defence planners. New procurements are estimated to be worth $156bn over the next decade and multiple 4.5th and 5th generation aircraft models are available to meet varied and complex needs. Meanwhile, in-service aircraft are being upgraded to perform swing-role missions and to make critical enhancements to sensors and armament.
It is clear that keeping a technological edge in air combat capability remains a key objective for most air forces and much work is required to refine next generation requirements.
